“At a time when employers are fiercely competing to attract and retain skilled workers,” the Défi Meilleurs Employeurs competition provides an excellent opportunity for employers to find out what motivates employee engagement and mobilization. The competition’s winners and participants are a great source of inspiration for businesses wishing to adopt sound HR management practices,” commented Order president and CEO Florent Francoeur, CHRP.

“This competition is now more relevant than ever, given the ongoing challenge businesses are facing to attract talent. We are convinced that it significantly helps participating organizations improve their HR management practices and thus achieve success,” confirmed Sylvain Bédard, editor of the economic magazines section at Transcontinental Media.

“The Défi celebrates not only the winners, but also all the participating organizations that have contributed to enhancing their employees’ commitment,” added Francis Lafrance, managing consultant, Eastern Canada, for Watson Wyatt. “Research carried out by Watson Wyatt in Canada and abroad has shown that employee commitment has a powerful impact on productivity and financial performance. Our company is proud to take part in this event, which honours employers who understand that their success depends upon their employees.”

About Défi Meilleurs Employeurs
The main objective of Défi Meilleurs Employeurs is to encourage Québec businesses to become better employers through evaluating their efforts based on employee feedback and in comparison with other organizations.

The competition also evaluates employees’ productive engagement and identifies organizational strengths and weaknesses to allow businesses to adopt the most appropriate tools. Through questionnaires prepared by Watson Wyatt, information is collected on the quality of the work environment and leadership, the decision-making process, and professional development and training. It is therefore in an organization’s best interest to participate regularly in the competition to be able to track its progress over the years. Now in its sixth year, the Défi Meilleurs Employeurs competition was jointly established by Watson Wyatt and Affaires PLUS magazine.
